Introduced in 1923, the Bolide is believed to be the first bag ever made with a zip, which Émile Hermès licensed after seeing it on a car's canvas cover.
Its rounded bowling-bag shape is practical and secure, and it is much easier to be offered than a Birkin or Kelly.
Resale generally sits below retail, because availability is good and it lacks the scarcity premium.
That makes it one of the better values for buying a pre-owned Hermès leather bag.
Our verdict: A historic, practical bag at a discount pre-owned. Wear it, don't flip it.
