A Kelly with a face: the flap becomes a smiling head, with little leather arms and legs, designed by Jean-Louis Dumas and first released in 2000 as 'Quelle Idole'.
It has only been made in short runs (2000 to 2005, 2008 to 2010, and limited releases since 2017), so very few exist.
It went from a $2,500 novelty to a $40,000 to $60,000 collector piece. Pink and exotic versions have passed $100,000 at auction.
It almost never sells on eBay. The market for it is auction houses and specialist dealers.
Our verdict: A true collector's piece. Resale runs at roughly three times retail, if you can find one.
