In 2020 Rolex, a company that moves like a glacier, suddenly dropped the OP in candy colors: turquoise, coral, yellow, green. It was COVID-era dopamine in watch form and the internet lost its mind.
The turquoise 'Tiffany' OP41 briefly traded near five times retail in 2022, the single frothiest moment of the modern watch bubble. The colors were axed in 2023, and the discontinued dials are already trading like limited editions, because functionally they are.
