Steel case, solid platinum bezel, regatta styling. It trades roughly 10 percent under retail on the secondary market.
That gap makes it one of the better value buys if you love the watch itself.
The Yacht-Master is the Submariner that went to business school: same DNA, polished Rolesium platinum bezel, and a bidirectional bezel because timing a regatta is more genteel than timing a decompression stop.
The rhodium slate dial, sometimes with a powder-blue seconds hand, is one of the best dials Rolex currently makes, and the platinum bezel's matte-and-polish interplay is wasted on anyone who doesn't look closely. A connoisseur's pick hiding in a status line.
Our verdict: Buy pre-owned, never at retail. The discount is your margin of safety.
