The reference that turned the Sky-Dweller from a gold curiosity into a waitlist watch: steel money for an annual calendar and dual time, Rolex's most complicated mainstream movement.
Discontinued in 2023 for the 336934, it still trades above its old retail. The blue dial on Jubilee was the configuration everyone wanted, and still is.
The reference that made the Sky-Dweller matter: steel case, white gold fluted bezel, and suddenly Rolex's most complicated watch cost what a gold Datejust did. Waitlists formed overnight.
The annual calendar inside knows which months have 30 or 31 days and only needs correcting once a year, on March 1. Fourteen patents, set entirely through the bezel. The blue dial on Jubilee is the configuration that defined it.
Our verdict: B+: premium above retail is earned by the complication. The newer 336934 is the safer buy; this one is the slightly cheaper twin.
