The only split-seconds chronograph Rolex has ever made, with an extra hand that can stop to time a lap while the main hand keeps running.
Only around a dozen were produced, reportedly for racing teams, and at 44mm it was huge for the 1940s.
Examples have sold at auction for well over two million dollars, putting it among the most valuable Rolexes ever sold.
It almost never comes to market. This page exists so you know what one is if it ever does.
Our verdict: S: the rarest Rolex chronograph. A once-a-decade auction event.
