The Santos is the watch Louis Cartier designed in 1904 for his friend Alberto Santos-Dumont, a pilot who could not check a pocket watch at the controls. It is often called the first modern men's wristwatch.
The 2018 relaunch added QuickSwitch, so the steel bracelet and the leather strap swap without tools, and SmartLink, so you can size the bracelet yourself.
Steel Santos models hold their boutique price better than most current Cartiers on the resale market.
Also sold under reference WSSA0009; every one of them is counted here.
Our verdict: Sells for about 26% under its $9,200 boutique price. 64 recorded eBay sales in the last 12 months, and prices are up 4% over the year.
