The story

The Reduced was a smaller, automatic Speedmaster built on an outsourced base movement with a chronograph module.

It offered the Moonwatch look at 39mm and a lower price.

For years it was the cheapest way into a Speedmaster.

Its prices have firmed recently as current model retail climbs..

Our verdict: The cheapest way into a Speedmaster, and it has been quietly climbing. Automatic, 39mm, easy to resell, but the modular movement needs a good watchmaker.
