A Sea-Dweller made for only about three years, between the classic 40mm design and the larger 43mm model that replaced it.
It kept the 40mm size and the clean dial with no date magnifier, which many collectors consider the ideal Sea-Dweller formula.
Because the run was so short, it has a quiet cult following and trades above its final retail.
It is a great example of how short production runs create collectible modern Rolexes.
