The original Batman, and the watch where Rolex first solved two-color ceramic. Making one bezel in two colors had been considered almost impossible, and this was the proof of concept that later made the steel Pepsi possible.
It came only on the Oyster bracelet. When the 126710BLNR replaced it in 2019 on a Jubilee, this version became the 'Oyster Batman' that a lot of collectors actually prefer.
It shares the 40mm case and look with its successor but uses the older 3186 movement with a shorter power reserve, which is the main reason it trades at about the same money.
Six years of production, one bracelet, one historic first. That is a quiet but real collector story.
Our verdict: A: the historic first two-tone ceramic GMT. Holds value as well as the current model and carries the better backstory.
