Rated to 11,000 meters, the deepest any production watch goes. It is the commercial version of the experimental watches Rolex strapped to submersibles for trips to the bottom of the Mariana Trench.
It was Rolex's first watch in RLX titanium, which keeps a 50mm case surprisingly wearable. Surprisingly, not comfortably: it is still enormous.
Launch hype pushed early examples above retail, and it has been falling ever since. Very few people want a 50mm watch every day, and resale reflects that.
As an object it is extraordinary. As a purchase, the market says wait.
Our verdict: D: an engineering trophy with a shrinking resale. Buy only if you want the deepest-rated watch ever made, and buy it used.
